Preston Bowman: Bio

Preston Bowman is an American solo recording artist specializing in electronic dance pop music. After releasing  singles Verti-Go (on iTunes), and Hostile Takeover, Bowman is currently preparing for his album  Toxic Demeanor to be released in August. “My sound is a cocktail of electric dance music from the heart. I produce and write all of my music. My job is to make you think, make you dance and make you laugh. Be prepared.”

Coming from Aston Pa, Preston Bowman is a natural entertainer. In his high-school senior variety show Bowman had a few comedy skits, including dressing up as a big breasted Madonna in an 80’s wedding gown, cheesy blonde wig and socks and lip synched Like A Virgin for the three-night show. Bowman received a standing ovation all three nights. To some, it was his “coming out” performance.  “I never thought about that until later. I did come out officially a little later during the controversial (at the time) Day Of Silence. I’ll never live ‘The Madonna skit’ down, Till this day when I run into people from High school it tends to get brought up. My parents bring it up and play the video at family parties. (Laughs).”

His influences are Madonna, Darren Hayes, 311, Elvis Presley, Cyndi Lauper, BT, Garbage and No Doubt/Gwen Stefani. Constantly listening to music Preston also keeps up to date with almost all kinds of music. “My heroes at the moment are Lady GaGa and Adam Lambert.”

At 17 Bowman worked at a gay bar/club in Wilmington Delaware called “814” as a DJ. He would also slip in a few of his demos into the mix. “It was a great way to get honest feedback and it inspired me to take my artistry more seriously.”

In April of 2008 Preston Bowman released “Roll The Dice” on CD Baby and shot a music video directed by Megan Earhart for the song “Single Sexy”. “The video was fun, we had no budget and we had a blast.”

Toxic Demeanor will be released in September, until then you can find Preston Bowman on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, You Tube and ReverbNation.
